Don't make the mistake of picking up a standard 3/32" to 1/8" adapter at Radio Shack or Walmart. It won't work in your phone. Sure it will fit the jack perfectly, but when it's plugged in, all you get is one channel. Moto uses a non standard jack configuration that probably has something to do with the way it will mute the music if a call comes in.
There are some headphones and earbuds made to fit the jack as is, but with this adapter, a whole new market of higher quality headphones becomes available.
