(More customer reviews)The right side of the computer has the power adapter plug-in on right side rear and the two usb ports on the right front side, so there is no place to put a book or papers beside the computer. The power adapter socket would better be placed on the rear of the computer to not interfere. Usb ports could then be on the sides towards the rear where they would be more out of the way.
In comparison with my M105 Satellite (late 2006 model) which has a tasteful matte finish and small brand name on top (plus a nice matte finish metal palm rest), this L655 has a very shiny plastic top and palm rest which seem quite cheap-looking and gather fingerprints. The large brand name adds to the effect.
This particular model is not alone in these features. It just seems that T. is making some aspects of these computers more cheaply and less well even as it improves the processors over time. Set to their highest volume the speakers are quite faint so that I strain to hear what is said when I am away from my external speakers.
The keyboard is quiet and the display nice.
