(More customer reviews)I purchased this unit for a small home-based business, whereby I have a very active company phone line using a VOIP phone and VOIP phone service. I have been looking for a way to "unplug" my phone to free up my hands, but I wanted a wireless unit. After looking around the web I decided to purchase this unit. The base of the unit performs as it should, allowing you to switch between the deskphone and the computer (to use with skype). But, I must say... after spending HOURS trying to get the headset to sound good, it was a lost cause. The microphone was so bad that no matter what I did it always sounded like I was talking in my car with my phone sitting on the passenger seat. I am VERY computer literate (running many web businesses) and I am a formal video engineer... and I couldn't make the microphone work. Also, the earpiece, although not as bad as the microphone, was very low and I couldn't hear it very well. My complaint is with the microphone, and not really the earpiece.
I just sent this unit back for a refund and purchased the Jabra Pro 9470. WHAT AN AMAZING DIFFERENCE!! I am not going to review that unit here, as that would not be appropriate, but it is very sad that Plantronics is trying to sell this device as anything worth anybody's money. Terrible sound quality equals terrible customer service... period!
